Tasman Council has formally adopted the Tasman 10 Year Employment Strategy 2025–2035 (10YES), a regionally tailored plan designed to build a more sustainable workforce. Developed through extensive consultation with local employers, community members and strategic partners, the strategy outlines clear goals across five themes including workforce participation, business support, job pathways, employment planning and talent retention.
The 10YES provides a long-term roadmap to guide Council and partners in addressing workforce challenges and opportunities unique to the region. The imperative of Council working alongside local business, industry groups, strategic regional partnerships such as Business & Employment Southeast Tasmania (BEST), Tasman Business & Tourism Association (TBTA), Destination Southern Tasmania (DST), education providers and other levels of government to grow the employment capacity is identified.
The strategy aims to be responsive and practical, supporting Tasman’s ongoing economic development, population growth and community resilience. The full strategy is available via the Council website.
