THYLASING
ThylaSing is an award-winning a cappella vocal ensemble based in Nipaluna/Hobart. Founded in 2017 by Musical Director Aaron Powell, ThylaSing aims to provide a space for experienced singers to engage with innovative arrangements of contemporary songs and original compositions.

In 2024, ThylaSing undertook a statewide tour, performing the song cycle “Afterlife” by Tasmanian composer Nic Courto. They also featured at the 2025 Playing the Field festival and MONA FOMA, as well as performing in a ticketed event for Festival of Voices each year.

In 2022, ThylaSing won 2nd place in the open division of the Australian A Cappella Awards, as well as a special aware for Best Jazz Song. Performing regularly around Hobart, highlights include “Love, Loss & Hope” at Port Arthur, Cancer Council events at Government House, festivals and much more.
