From Handfish to Seastars to Seagrass: the marine conservation values of the Tasman Peninsula and surrounds

The Tasman region is surrounded by a wide diversity of marine habitats, ranging from the sheltered shores and seagrass beds through to the wild rocky coast of Cape Pillar. At the southern tip of Australia, these habitats support an array of marine species, many found nowhere else on earth.

This presentation is hosted by Associate Professor Neville Barrett and Dr Beth Strain. Neville and Beth are marine ecologists, conservation biologists and senior lecturers based at IMAS at UTas. Neville specialises in marine protected area research as well as temperate reefs, continental shelf ecosystems and threatened species (in general). Beth specialises in seagrass ecology, artificial coastal structures and threatened species, including live-bearing and north Bruny seastars.
