Join us for a local engagement session

We will be holding sessions with landowners, business holders, and residents of three key parts of Nubeena to hear directly from the community about (refer maps below):

• Local issues, opportunities, and township character

• Potential future sewer servicing extensions and how these could unlock development opportunities for landholders

• Possible future zoning or overlay changes to better manage growth, hazards, and local character

• Community development aspirations, including facilities, public spaces, social connections and local services

• Possible future footpath and trail upgrades to improve safe walking and cycling

These sessions will be informal and interactive, with mapping activities and conversations with the project team.

The three sessions will be held at the Nubeena CWA Hall, 1634 Main Road, Nubeena on the following dates and times:

10 April 2026 at 10:00am – Zone 1

10 April 2026 at 5:00pm – Zone 2

11 April 2026 at 10:00am – Zone 3

Your input will help shape how Nubeena grows, how infrastructure is planned, what kinds of development are supported, and what community needs should be prioritised.

Pursuant to Section 9 (4) of the Local Government (Meeting Procedures) Regulations 2025, notice is hereby given that the Ordinary Monthly Meeting of the Tasman Council to be held in April 2026 will be held at the following time and location:

Meeting location for April 22, 2026, will change from Tasman Council Chambers, 1713 Main Road, Nubeena to CWA Hall, 1634 Main Road, Nubeena and will commence at 5:00pm.

All agenda papers will be available four (4) days prior to the meeting at the Council Office and on Council’s website at: www.tasman.tas.gov.au.

PUBLIC WASTE BINS

Additional daily services of our public bins will occur from 26th December 2025 to the 4th January 2026. After this period, they will return to being serviced on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Our community is supporting the DV Safe Phone initiative — a national program that collects both new and used mobile phones. The phones are securely wiped, and they are repurposed to provide safe phones to people experiencing domestic and family violence. These phones are a vital link to emergency services, support agencies and loved ones for someone trying to escape an abusive situation or reach out for help.

Why Your Donation Matters

• Perpetrators often track, monitor, destroy or confiscate phones as a means of coercive control, isolating victims from help. A safe phone can make the difference between being able to call for help and being unable to reach support.

• Phones donated through this program are professionally cleared of all personal data, tested and then distributed free of charge to those in need via service providers, police stations, safe houses and domestic violence agencies.

• Since 2020 the initiative has grown into a nationwide movement, supported by hundreds of communities, corporate and government partners.

How You Can Help

1. Locate any new or unused working mobile phones and chargers at home or in your workplace.

2. Visit https://dvsafephone.org/donate-phones to check eligibility requirements and learn how DV Safe Phone ensures all donated devices are securely wiped and safe to reuse.

3. Drop eligible phones at an authorised collection point, including the Tasman Council temporary office, 21 Clarke Street, Nubeena, or use the website to find another nearby location.

4. Encourage your friends, family and workplaces to donate as well.
