Nursing Care
Visiting Hours for residential, acute and respite care are from 10am to 7pm or by prior arrangement.
Residential Care
Residential Care is provided in this Facility under the direction of a Registered Nurse at all times, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Management utilises a mix of staff to perform a variety of tasks within the facility, and the Registered Nurse on duty has the responsibility to allocate the tasks required of each employee. In this Facility the Registered Nurses perform nursing tasks as set out in the Resident's Care Plan, and or directions from the resident's Medical Practitioner. All medications are prescribed by the resident's own Medical Practitioner, and dispensed by a registered nurse.
Accident and Emergency
This service runs in collaboration with the Tasman Medical Centre as a first point of call for community members and visitors to use outside normal opening hours.
Community Health Nursing
Provides care for community members in their own home on either a short or long term basis. The service is available Monday to Friday and delivered by a Registered Nurse.
Palliative Care
Palliative Care is provided both through Community Nursing and Residential Care. The care is delivered under the Clients Care plan, directions from their General Practitioner and if involved the Palliative Care Service in Hobart.
Respite Care
Respite care is provided by the Facility and must be booked in advance. It is available for families that for what ever reason require a break.
Acute Care
Acute Care is provided on the request of the Tasman Medical Centre or a referring hospital for a short period of time.
Residential Activity Program
A variety of in-house and external activities are provided at Tasman MPS. These activities are displayed daily on the bulletin board in the Facility. All residents, family, friends and visitors are welcome to participate in these activities and encouraged to participate in outings.
All residents are individually assessed on admission as to their hobbies and recreational activity likes and dislikes. From this the Activities Coordinator is able to create an activity program to suit the individual resident.
