Waste Management
Council's Wheelie Bin and Kerbside Recycling program commenced in 2003, and continues on a weekly basis. Days for collection by area are:
Friday - Nubeena, Stormlea, Highcroft Koonya & Saltwater River Road to Dam Rd (Including Dam Road)
Saturday - Taranna to Port Arthur (including Safety Cove, Carnarvon Bay), White Beach & Saltwater River Road and onwards.
Sunday - From Council Boundary at Dunalley including Murdunna, Eaglehawk Neck and Taranna.
During the Christmas/New Year and Easter seasons, the collection days may alter and this will be advertised.
Your wheelie bin and recycling crate should be placed on the road verge by 6:00am on the day of collection to be collected.
The Council provides a hardwaste and greenwaste collection service each year, usually in November. you will need to register with Council at least two (2) weeks prior to the collection date if you wish to take part.

Nubeena Waste Transfer Station (Tip)
The Waste Transfer Station for the Tasman Municipality is located at the end of Tip Road, Nubeena.
When arriving at the 'T-intersection' in Nubeena with the Nubeena School opposite, turn left and continue until you reach 'Tip Road' to the right. The station is at the top of 'Tip Road' on the right.
Operating Hours for the Nubeena Waste Transfer Station
Tuesday - 9:00am to 1:00pm
Wednesday - 9:00am to 1:00pm
Saturday - 9:00am to 1:00pm
Sunday - 12:00noon to 4:00pm
Any further changes due to public holidays will be advertised.
All waste left at the station is relocated to the Copping Landfill site, recycling is taken on further to the Mornington Station.
Septic Tanks, Sewerage and Water
At this stage, town-water and sewerage services are not generally available within the Municipality.
The Council is currently investigating wastewater systems within the Municipality at Nubeena, White Beach and Port Arthur.
Septic tanks are the main source of human-waste management in the district and approval of an appropriate system is managed by the Council's Environmental Health Officer.
Hardwaste and Greenwaste Collection
The Council provides a hardwaste and greenwaste collection service each year, usually in November. This will be advertised at least two weeks prior to the date of collection and you will need to register with the Council Office to take part in the service.
