Port Arthur and Coal Mines Historic Sites Community Consultation on Proposed Planning Scheme Amendment to Include an Overlay - Buffer Zone
Tasman Council and consultants (Pitt & Sherry and John Wadsley) would like to thank all members of the public who gave their time to attend the information session on Satruday 24 October 2009. The consultants were pleased to meet local land owners and community members who have concerns and suggestions regarding the proposed overlay (buffer zone) being considered as a planning scheme amendment to support the World Heritage nomination for the Port Arthur and Coal Mines Historic Sites.
Many issues were discussed and these will be incorporated into the consultants report to Council. Members of the public who did not submit feedback forms on the day are encouraged to return these by Wednesday 11 November 2009. Members of the public who could not attend the information session are also encouraged to download a copy of the information sheets and feedback form.
There will be a second community information session in the near future, which will be advertised once dates and times are confirmed.
COMMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2009 TO EITHER THE TASMAN COUNCIL
OR VIA EMAIL wadsley@bigpond.com
